I work for a hospital in the state of CT. My manager purchased CVS gift cards back in 9-26-2017 in the amounts of 50.00 to pass out for our Focus Group participants. They were put away until last week 2-16-18 and passed out to our participants for their attendance.
This weekend one of our participants stated she went to use the card and the balance was 0. She was able to provide us with the entire card number and also asked to scratch for the pin. This was needed to look up the card transaction history online per CVS gift card look up system.
The report/history provided us with a store number of 09674 so we called 1800 shop CVS and they looked up the store number for us…which was a store in the L.A. are CALIFORNIA. Now we understand that it will take an ET of 7-10 days to get a call back from their research team.
Please keep all receipts and make copies of the cards as well as a record of the pins due to this mysterious issue. BE WARNED and CHECK YOUR CARDS!!! Not cool to our participants and not cool period.
